Bank of the West honors winning nonprofits at the 2014 Philanthropy Awards

On November 18, Wealth Management Group hosted the fifth annual Bank of the West Philanthropy Awards ceremony and awarded nonprofits with a USD 100,000 grant each in recognition of their innovation, leadership and measurable impact.

IDEO.org, was recognized in the Innovation Award category for its creative approach to addressing issues that especially affect under-resourced communities. Further information

Inner City Advisors (ICA) was the winner in the Community Impact category for its work in helping to create and retain over 10,000 jobs in the Bay Area since its founding in 1996. Further information

A guest panel speaking to this year’s theme of Inspiration, Innovation and Impact, included Charly Kleissner, co-founder of the KL Felicitas Foundation and winner of the 2014 BNP Paribas Prize for Individual Philanthropy, and Chuck Slaughter, founder and CEO of Living Goods, awarded in 2013.

In addition, Kasia Moreno, editorial director of Forbes Insights, shared the findings of the 2014 BNP Paribas Individual Philanthropy Index, which measures the current state of philanthropy in four global regions.
