Pol is Head of Real Estate Investment Strategy at BNP Paribas Wealth Management since early 2010, providing services to key clients with substantial net worth. He has a particular interest in Asian high net worth individuals.He is based in Brussels and Paris.
Pol joined Fortis Bank Belgium in1998 as Global Markets senior equity analyst ‘Real Estate’ and from 2004 to end 2009 as Head of Strategy and Property Research of Fortis Private Real Estate (Private Banking).
Pol is a visiting real estate programs lecturer (Solvay Business School, Brussels, the Antwerp Management School, Antwerp) and has published a wide range of real estate research reports. He is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors RICS and was from June 2016 to June 2019 member of RICS’ Continental Europe Education Standards Board (CESB). Since July 2019, Pol has been appointed RICS Accreditation Reviewer for education programmes worldwide. RICS-accreditation demonstrates a globally-recognised standard of surveying education.
He was member of the Investment Committee of ImmoFinRe, a Luxembourg-based real estate private equity fund, invested in emerging markets, between September 2009 and June 2019.
Pol began his career as an economist at the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (Niger and Rome). He was subsequently employed by the Belgian Overseas Development Administration as project manager/lecturer (Rwanda and Suriname).
Pol Robert Tansens obtained a Master in Applied Economics at the University of Antwerp (Belgium) in 1985 and gained a second Master in Commercial Engineering with his thesis ‘Profitability of thermal insulation in detached houses’ at the same university in 1986.
