5 wins at the 2018 Asian Private Banker Awards for Distinction

BNP Paribas Wealth Management APAC wraps up the year with 23 industry award wins

5 wins Asian Private Banker Awards

Wealth Management Asia was named Best Private Bank – Global Indians, Best Private Bank – Investment Advisory and Best Private Bank – Discretionary Portfolio Management by Asian Private Banker Awards for Distinction 2018 at a gala dinner held in Hong Kong on February 21, 2019.

Additionally, it also received an excellence commendation for the India Domestic and FX Advisory categories.  These accolades brought a successful conclusion of last year’s awards season with 23 industry wins.

Asian Private Banker praised BNP Paribas Wealth Management for ranking among the few private banks capable of delivering a fully-fledged and nuanced offering to global Indians whose complex needs go beyond straight execution and wealth advisory to include corporate and investment banking and family services.

Its strength is predicated on its strong onshore-offshore connectivity and a deeply entrenched ‘one bank’ culture.

The publication also acknowledged that only a few in the wealth management industry upgraded their offering to the same magnitude as BNP Paribas Wealth Management, which used 2018’s market challenges to demonstrate the all-round quality of its advisory proposition.

Moreover, in a market populated by ‘me too’ DPM solutions, BNP Paribas Wealth Management was unafraid to expose its internal capabilities to scrutiny at the highest level, putting itself not just against fellow discretionary managers, but global money managers.

Commenting on the award, Samir Bimal, Head of Indian and International Markets said,

“This recognition is a reflection of the trust of our global NRI clients, commitment of the Group and efforts of our teams.  We will continue to leverage on key value levers like our “One Bank” philosophy, continued product offering and innovation, access to India Onshore, client digital experience and quality of our teams, to meet clients’ objectives.”

"With 2018 being such a challenging year for investors, it turned out to be even more crucial for our clients that we maintained a steadfast focus on providing best-in-class advice and continued to invest in and develop our strong investment services platform.  Despite the difficult market context, we saw record DPM inflows in 2018, with our DPM clients increasingly focused on our consistent, long-term performance and strong after-sales service that aligns their interests with our own.”
