A private bank committed to helping women entrepreneurs

To mark International Women's Day, BNP Paribas Wealth Management made a commitment to support the women’s incubator and accelerator Paris Pionnières/WILLA by signing its “Manifesto for Inclusive Growth”.

As the top private bank in the eurozone and a leading player worldwide, we support entrepreneurs to build bridges between their businesses and their private assets, at all maturity stages of a company, from a startup to a large companies Our motto: better understand, serve and celebrate entrepreneurs. Regarding women entrepreneurs, our studies shown us that they are more optimistic, more profitable but at the same time they are less likely to raise their capital or use leverage credit. We want to go a step further on women entrepreneurs in tech, they are fewer and that’s the reason why we quickly agreed to support WILLA’s female startupers barometer covering several countries”.

These commitments and this new partnership are fully aligned with our strategy aiming to "Understand, serve and celebrate" women entrepreneurs.

  • Understand women entrepreneurs, through specific research to better identify the issues. And that is exactly why we support the new female startupers barometer launched by WILLA. The results of this survey, based on “fair data” will be revealed in the fall of 2018.
  • Serve women entrepreneurs, as clients, of course, but also by accelerating their business. This involves mentoring, training and high-level networking, for example through our programme at Stanford University. Including the 2018 participants, nearly 150 women will have benefited from this unique growth and leadership programme.
  • Lastly, celebrate the success of women entrepreneurs, with a qualitative objective: provide a public space where the success of some women will inspire others, and the younger generation in particular. That is why last year BNP Paribas and FCEM (Femmes Chefs d’Entreprises Mondiales) launched the BNP Paribas Global Prize for Women Entrepreneurs*, whose second winner will be announced in April in New York.

BNP Paribas Wealth Management is committed to understanding, serving and celebrating women entrepreneurs, globally and locally: by publishing reports such as the new female tech startupers barometer, by organising training sessions such as our programme at Stanford, and by honouring role models with the BNP Paribas Global Prize for Women Entrepreneurs.
