PROFIT ISN'T EVERYTHING...
“In just one-and-a-half years, 15,000+ investors have invested in our SRI funds.” Peter Vandekerckhove, BNP Paribas Fortis (Belgium)

Our own Eléonore Bedel participated at a recent roundtable during a Socially Responsible Investment conference organised by BNP Paribas Fortis in Belgium at the same time as the historic COP21 event in Paris.
The attached article (which is only in French) includes the following highlights:
- Peter Vandekerckhove of BNP Paribas Fortis in Belgium said, “Social responsibility, in both business and investments, isn’t an abstract concept at BNP Paribas Fortis… neither for investment solutions nor in our general functioning as a Bank.” He further added, “« We are here because we are conscious that certain things should—and thankfully can—change.”
As you may already know, our Private Bank recently received in Belgium a prize for “Best initiative in relation to Socially Responsible Investment (SRI)” by the Banker/Financial Times.
Peter further noted “The ratings given by agencies specialised in SRI to our Group show how much these initiatives are appreciated. Even if, as with many large, international, companies, there remains much to do and certain complex situations remain.”
Congrats to BNP Paribas Fortis, to Peter, and to Eléonore!
