Our Leadership

Our Executive Committee is responsible for BNP Paribas Wealth Management’s key activities and operations – overseeing its strategy and planning, talent development, and more – all with the aim of providing a long-term banking relationship to meet our clients’ ever-evolving needs.

Vincent Lecomte is Co-Head of BNP Paribas Wealth Management. He previously served as its Chief Operating Officer (COO).

In 2005, Lecomte became Deputy Head of the Personal Investors business line and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Cortal Consors, a subsidiary of BNP Paribas. He held several positions in the consulting field before joining Paribas’ Securities Services business in France in 1992. He also spent three years in Germany as Head of the securities business.

Lecomte is a graduate of ESCP Europe.

Sofia Merlo is Co-Head of BNP Paribas Wealth Management. Formerly, she was Head of BNP Paribas Private Bank France.

Merlo also served as Director of the Bordeaux Business Centre, where she developed the customer base in the Aquitaine region. She later became a career manager with the Group’s Human Resources department before becoming Head of Career Management in 2004.

Soon after launching her career at Paribas as an account manager in the large corporates division, Merlo moved into sales and cross-business roles. In 1991, she became an assistant branch manager, then a branch manager of the Paris network, working with clients from all sectors. 

Sofia Merlo graduated from HEC.

Béatrice Belorgey is Head of the French BNP Paribas Private Banking division.

In 2009, Belorgey took on the responsibility of Group Investor Relations in addition to her previous position as Group Head of Financial Information. Prior to which, in 2000, she was Head of Financial Products and of the Advisory Desk for Wealth Management in Luxembourg.

Belorgey has also worked on the Corporate & Investment Banking Fixed Income team and the Corporate Finance team. She began her career at BNP Paribas in 1986 as a credit analyst in the Paris Regional Management Team.

Belorgey graduated from the l'Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris and the CEFA financial analyst program.

Mignonne Cheng is Chairman of BNP Paribas Wealth Management for Asia Pacific and a member of its Global Executive Committee of BNP Paribas Wealth Management.

A seasoned banker, Mignonne Cheng has amassed over 30 years of experience in the financial sector with over 20 years in senior management positions covering a vast scope of areas, from corporate and commercial banking to investment banking.

Cheng was made Deputy Chief Executive Officer for North Asia (Hong Kong, Mainland China, Taiwan and Macau) following the merger of BNP and Paribas in 2000. In that role, she oversaw all financing activities as well as the client coverage teams represented by Corporate & Financial Institutions, Shipping, Premium Group and Structured Finance.

Cheng has also held various positions within the BNP Paribas Hong Kong Branch, including Region Manager for North Asia, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager for the Chinese Division. She was later promoted to Chief Operating Officer and Head of Corporate & Commercial Banking group in 1995.

François Dacquin has been CEO Wealth Management Luxembourg & International Europe Markets since April 2017. He is also member of the Management Board of BGL BNP Paribas and member of the BNP Paribas Wealth Management Executive Committee.

He first joined BNP Paribas in 1993, starting in the Financing and Investment Bank division before becoming part of the Internal Audit. In 2001, he moved into Wealth Management (WM) as Head of Risk & Credit. Then from 2004 to 2010, he served as Head of Investment Services for WM Switzerland & Emerging Markets, and as Global Head of Discretionary Portfolio Management for the global Wealth Management division. In 2010, he was appointed Head of Strategic Initiatives and Marketing Transversal Team and contributed to realising major developments in Wealth Management.

Rémi Frank is Head of the Key Client Group & Professional Banking at BNP Paribas Wealth Management and a member of the Global Executive Committee.

Frank created and developed the Capital Markets Derivative Products before moving on to become the Head of Sales and Structuring of the BNP Paribas Business Equities and Derivatives.

Rémi Frank joined the BNP Paribas group as a trader, later becoming Head of Asia FX Options, first in Paris, then Singapore, and finally in Tokyo.

Gianpietro Giuffrida joined the Executive Committee of BNP Paribas Wealth Management as Head of BNL BNP Paribas Private Banking in 2014.

Giuffrida had served as Corporate Regional Director at BNL BNP Paribas before he was appointed as the Retail and Private Banking Regional Director for the Southern Region.

Prior to joining BNP Paribas, Giuffrida served as North West Corporate Regional Director in Turin at Banca di Roma. In 1998, Banca di Roma was merged with 8 other Italian banks, which led to the creation of UniCredit. There, Giuffrida was appointed Corporate Regional Director for the Lombardy Region.

Gianpietro Giuffrida began his career with Banca Commerciale Italiana where, after holding various positions, he became Head of Key Accounts for Brescia/Bergamo.

Stephanie Lair is the Head of Human Resources for BNP Paribas Wealth Management, and a member of its Executive Committee.

Olivier Maugarny is Head of Offering and Sales & Marketing Transversal Mission. He oversees products and services for the business, including product design, market advisory management services, fiduciary services and wealth management.

Maugarny joined BNP Paribas Private Banking as Head of the Advisory Desk in 2000. Formerly, he was Managing Director of BNP Equities France. Before joining the BNP Paribas Group in 1990, Olivier Maugarny was a consultant at Thomson-CSF and an engineer by training.

Michel Milair is Head of Process, Operations and Technology at BNP Paribas Wealth Management, and has been with the BNP Paribas Group since 1991.

Miliar was formerly Chief Operating Officer of the French Private Banking division. Prior to which, between 2006 and 2008, he served as Chief Operating Officer for the French Private Banking DPM activities for the Investment Partners business line.

In 2004, he joined the Asset Management & Services business, working on a number of complex projects involving various business lines.

Following the merger of BNP and Paribas, Milair oversaw the reengineering of the French Wealth Management department, which included the migration of the French Private Bank’s accounts as well as the streamlining of our subsidiary’s activities in Monaco.

Prior to joining the Group’s private banking activities, he was a part of the Internal Audit team for four years after having served as a project leader on data exchange solution software for the Bank’s customers.

As Head of Switzerland & Emerging Markets, Hubert Musseau oversees offices in Switzerland, Brazil, Jersey and the Persian Gulf in addition to several emerging markets.

After an initial assignment with Corporate & Institutional Banking as a credit analyst for Asia, followed by five years spent in the Inspection Générale department as an inspector and subsequently a team leader, Musseau joined BNP Paribas Wealth Management in 2005 as Head of Risk Management and a member of the Executive Committee.

In 2006, he was appointed Wealth Management's Chief Operating Officer, before becoming the local Wealth Management Deputy Chief Executive Officer in Brazil in 2011.

Hubert Musseau graduated from EM Lyon (École de Management de Lyon) and holds a Master’s Degree in Economics and Econometrics from the Panthéon – Assas University Paris II.

In January 2016, Jérôme Tournigand became Head of International Retail Markets for the Wealth Management Division and a member of the Executive Committee of BNP Paribas Wealth Management and International Retail Banking. He is responsible for the supervision and coordination of private banks on the branch networks in Turkey, Luxembourg, Germany, Morocco, Poland and China.

From 2005 to 2015, Jérôme Tournigand was posted in Luxembourg, first as a market manager for French clientele, then at BGL BNP Paribas as Private Banking Director for the Luxembourg branch network.

In 1992, he joined BNP Group's branch network in Chalon-sur-Saône, France. After a position in the Inspection Générale audit department, he joined the French Private Banking function in 2001.

Jérôme Tournigand is a graduate of INSEEC Business School in Paris.


Stéphane Vermeire is Head of BNP Paribas Fortis Private Banking in Belgium.

Vermeire was previously Head of Public & Wholesale Banking International and a member of the management board of Dexia Credit Local in Paris. In his past experiences, he oversaw the international expansion of Dexia Retail Banking. He also held various management positions within the retail and private banking sectors of the Dexia Group. Prior to joining Dexia, Vermeire worked as a business analyst at McKinsey & Company.

Stéphane Vermeire holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and Commercial Engineering from the Solvay Business School in Brussels, Belgium, as well as a Master’s Degree in Management from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University in Chicago, USA.

Pierre Vrielinck is Head of Global Asian Markets and a member of the Global Executive Committee of BNP Paribas Wealth Management.

In 2009, Pierre Vrielinck joined the General Management team of BNP Paribas Switzerand, based out of Geneva, as Chief Operating Officer  and  Deputy Head of Wealth Management International Europe. Previously, he was Global Head of Fund Administration and Middle Office for BNP Paribas Securities Services.

A Belgian native, Pierre Vrielinck began his banking career early. He joined Paribas in Paris in the 1990s, where he managed fund administration and asset management.
