Romain Troublé
Executive Director, TARA Ocean Fondation

Romain Troublé has received dual training, with a Master’s degree in Molecular Biology from Sorbonne Universités and a Master's from HEC & Telecom Paris. He was also a professional sailor at the highest level, with two participations in the America's Cup for the French teams in 2000 and 2003 in Auckland, New Zealand. From 2000 to 2006, he worked for a company specializing in polar logistics in the Arctic, Antarctic, and Siberia, supporting sporting and scientific expeditions to the poles, as well as mammoth discoveries in the Siberian permafrost. Since 2004, he has been responsible for the operational management of the Tara expeditions and, since 2009, has been the General Director of the Tara Ocean Foundation.

Romain is also the President of the Ocean & Climate Platform association since 2017, which brings together over 120 institutions, foundations, businesses, local authorities, and associations internationally to advocate for the Ocean within climate and biodiversity negotiations. He is President of the Monaco-based association Beyond Plastic Med, dedicated to fighting plastic pollution in the Mediterranean Sea, and Chair of the Pink Flamingo Society, which unites the largest international private foundations with a ship made available for open-source public research.

Gisèle M Arruda
Professor Circumpolar Studies, Anvivo Polar & UArtic

Dr Gisele Arruda is a professor in circumpolar studies. She has studied two PhDs and she is an expert in the field of  Climate Change Science and Governance, Sustainable Energy Systems, Environment and Society.  She has 33 years of experience in teaching and research and she is a Senior Fellow of Higher Education Academy and a Fellow of Royal Geographical Society, a member of HETL and UARCTIC. She has worked as a scientific advisor to universities, examination boards, and as an international environmental manager and consultant in Sustainability for the energy/ petrochemical industry. She has also been an advisor for governmental and non-governmental organizations advising policy-makers, elaborating reports and promoting change. Additionally, she supervises PhD students and supports post-graduation and online learning. She is involved in international publications and international conferences.

Martin Lok
Executive Director, Capital Coalition

With more than 25 years of experience as policy maker for the Netherland’s government, Martin has worked in several policy domains, including environmental policy, international nature policy and green growth policy.

He is a co-author of several national policy documents and has led public-private collaborative actions on natural capital in the Netherlands from 2014. In 2018 Martin initiated and led the global Government Dialogue on Natural Capital and now serves as the Executive Director for the Capitals Coalition.

Romain Ottavj
Legal Director, Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation

Romain Ottavj, a graduate in private law from the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis, currently serves as the Legal Director at the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, having joined the team in 2020. Founded in 2006 by S.A.S. Prince Albert II to address the environmental threats facing our planet and the vulnerability of populations, the Foundation focuses on three main geographical areas: the Mediterranean Basin, the Polar Regions, and the Least Developed Countries, which are most impacted by climate change, biodiversity loss, and threats to water resources. After working in various legal departments in France and Monaco, he now applies his expertise in contract law and environmental law to support the Foundation's efforts in protecting planetary health. These topics are also addressed in legal roundtables organized by the Foundation to engage with environmental law challenges in an accessible and dynamic way.

Davide Forcella
Director, JuST Institute

Davide is the Director of the Just Sustainability Transitions Institute (JuST Institute), the not-for-profit member-based entity that catalyzes market development towards Climate Change and Biodiversity Positive Inclusive Finance. Davide is also Lead Expert (and previous Head for 10 years) of the Green Inclusive & Climate Smart Finance Action Group at the European Microfinance Platform (https://www.e-mfp.eu/gicsf-ag) and  Associate Researcher in Green Inclusive Finance at the Centre for European Research in Microfinance (CERMi: https://www.cermi.eu ).

He has more than 18 years of professional experience and more than 13  years of experience in inclusive finance and data smart & digital finance, climate, agriculture, biodiversity and green finance, worldwide both in developing countries: Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America and Caribbean, Asia, and MENA, but also on Western and Eastern Europe. He is expert in: financial and non-financial products and services development, implementation and commercialization; multistakeholder projects and programmes development, implementation, management and coordination; climate and ecosystems risks management; green strategies, processes, policy, monitoring and reporting; structuring financial products for banking sector with social, environmental and just transition scopes; as well as clients communication and satisfaction.

Davide has extensive experience in working with banking sector, inclusive or impact investors, and international agencies and development banks. He uses to manage multicultural team of various sizes, with members of various level of seniority, as well as multi-stakeholders private – public coalitions.

Manon Mura
Climate Asset Management Natural Capital Investment, HSBC Group

Manon has 10 years of experience in multinational innovation strategies, with a focus on sustainable growth, climate change and nature-based solutions. Prior to Climate Asset Management she was a Sustainability Integration Manager at Danone, where she spent 6 years on low carbon transition before joining Hermès International as a Sustainability Program Leader on climate risk analysis and corporate biodiversity footprint. Manon has a double MSc background in engineering and business, and has recently completed her MBA at INSEAD to apply her unique set of skills to asset management, and tailoring natural capital investment solutions to investors’ strategic needs.

Willem Renema
Research Group Leader Marine biodiversity, Naturalis Biodiversity Center

Willem is a prominent research leader with extensive experience in marine biodiversity. He has a proven track record as programme coordinator of a Horizon2020 ITN  4D-REEF on the origin and resilience of coral reefs in the Coral Triangle, groupleader of Marine Biodiversity at Naturalis Biodiversity Center, and as professor by special appointment at the University of Amsterdam.

Nicolas Pascal
Managing Director, Blue Alliance

Nicolas Pascal is an expert in both Finance and Marine Science, with over 30 years' global experience. He has led over 15 initiatives related to marine conservation in more than 12 countries and has been an investment director for private companies for 10 years.  Nicolas is the executive director and founder of Blue Alliance, a social enterprise managing Marine Protected Areas and developing a Blue Economy around the protected areas.

Minna EPPS
IUCN Director, Global Marine and Polar Programme

Minna Epps is the Head of IUCN’s Global Ocean Programme (Ocean Governance, Ocean and Climate change, Marine pollution and Blue Finance). She is the Chair for the Blue Natural Capital funding facility executive committee, the Blue Carbon Accelerator Fund, and Chair of the IMPAC International Steering Committee, as well as serving as a strategic advisor to the Blue Action Fund, the One Planet Fund and the Sea Legacy, as well as most recently part of the Impact Committee of Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation’s newly launched ReOcean fund, a private equity fund dedicated to SDG14. She represents IUCN in several high-level Ocean networks, as well as coordinating marine scientific research. She is also a WEF Friends of Ocean Action Leader. Global policy work include Head of IUCN Delegations for various marine Multilateral Environmental Agreements and negotiations (ie the High Seas BBNJ Treaty). Minna has 20 years of experience in international marine and coastal conservation from fieldwork to global policy. She brings her experience from IUCN, Marine Stewardship Council, European Commission,UNEP,WTO,andmarineconservationNGOs.Minnaisamarinebiologistwithstudiesfrom Imperial College, Rhode Island School of Oceanography and UC Berkeley.

Irina Likhachova
Global Biodiversity and Nature Finance lead, IFC

Ms. Irina Likhachova is the global lead for Biodiversity and Nature Finance at IFC, member of the World Bank Group. She focuses on developing new business models and products to mobilize private sector investments for projects that generate positive outcomes for nature in mainstream economic activity, promote conservation and restoration of ecosystems, and integrate nature-based solutions into infrastructure projects. She spearheaded IFC Biodiversity Finance Reference Guide, the world’s first and only guidance on investment opportunities that contribute to protecting, maintaining, or enhancing biodiversity and ecosystem services and support the transition towards nature positive goal of halting and reversing biodiversity loss across economies. For this work, Irina was awarded Personality of the Year by Environmental Finance’s Sustainable Debt Awards 2024.

Yeganeh Forouheshfar
Senior Researcher, Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association (EMEA)

Yeganeh Forouheshfar, is a senior researcher at The Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association (EMEA), she holds a PhD in economics from Université Paris-Dauphine. Her research interests are green transition, SDG achievements, entrepreneurship and digitalization. She is also an affiliate researcher at DIAL (Développement, Institutions et Mondialisation research Unit at Université Paris-Dauphine) and a member of EMANES research network. Yeganeh has published in peer review journals and contributed to scientific publications. She is involved in EMEA's EU funded projects aiming at promoting entrepreneurship in creative industries as well as green and blue economy in the South Mediterranean countries.

Camille Maclet
Group Biodiversity Lead, BNP Paribas

Camille Maclet is the Group Expert on Biodiversity and Natural Capital at BNP Paribas. His focus is to propose and implement BNP Paribas’s strategy on nature, across business entities, from a business opportunities perspective as well as through a risks and impacts lens. In 2022-2023, he was the Finance Sector Engagement Lead for the Secretariat of the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). He was also Advisor to the co-Chair of the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD), Ms Elizabeth Mrema. Camille Maclet worked 15 years in sustainability consultancy to public developments banks, private financial institutions, and investors, in a range of economic sectors and geographies. From 2012 to 2020, he was the Partner-in-charge of Sustainable Finance Advisory with Environmental Resources Management (ERM) in France.

Emmanuelle Boisard
Environmental Engineer Specialist, Daxtachem

Emmanuelle Boisard obtained an engineering degree in Earth Sciences, specializing in Hydrosciences, Hydrogeology, Hydrology, Geophysics, Environmental Risk, and Geology from the Polytech' UPMC - Sorbonne School in Paris in 2012.

Sensitive to environmental causes, she has dedicated her career to ecological transition, with 11 years of experience in the private sector of waste treatment and recovery in the Var region. From 2012 to 2017, she was responsible for managing ICPE development projects, including coordinating environmental impact assessments. From 2017 to 2023, she served as the operations manager of a Biopole for the recovery of inert waste and organic waste.

In 2024, she became an Environmental Engineer Specialist for DAXTACHEM SAM, a green chemistry and scientific consulting company based in the Principality of Monaco.

Rachid Benchaouir
Founder, SEO & CSO, Coraliotech

Passionate about science and discoveries from a young age, Rachid, founder and CEO of Coraliotech, oriented his university studies towards modern biology. He obtained a PhD in biochemistry from the University of Paris 6, in 2004, and had an atypical professional career, alternating between public and private structures. This double skill has allowed him to make the most of both « cultures ».

« Welcomed in 2015 at the Monaco Scientific Center for my expertise in human genetics, I took part in an original and unexpected collaboration with researchers in marine biology. From the success of this initiative was born the idea of creating Coraliotech to enhance the benefits of research on coral reef ecosystems, and thus to include the activity in a virtuous circle linking science, economy and the societal impact of our innovations. »

Michel Kaine

Enrico Tenaglia
Co-Founder, GaiaTech

Enrico Tenaglia is one of the co-founders of GaiaTech. He earned his Ph.D. in Molecular Biosciences from the Spanish National Center for Cancer Research - CNIO in Madrid in 2014 and has since built extensive expertise leading international R&D projects and partnerships as a Research Associate at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), where he worked at the intersection of engineering and biology. He is driven by the translation of scientific discoveries into meaningful real-world applications and entrepreneurial ventures.

Pauline Blandin
Investment Director - Impact Investment, BNP Paribas Asset Management

She worked for 10-years in CIB Commodities Financing activities, throughout different positions (Credit Analysis, Structuring and Coverage – Relationship Management) in Brazil for 4 years, in the US for 3 years and, since 2018 in Paris, with a specific focus on tropical agri-commodities and energy structured financing.

From 2020 to 2022 Pauline worked for BNPP’s Sustainable Finance team, in charge of structuring and promoting sustainability-linked loans, social and green loans for large corporate clients in EMEA – with a continued focus on food & agri-chains and natural capital themes, but also on specific industries such as shipping. 

Since 2022 Pauline joined BNPP AM Private Assets – Ecological Transition & Impact team and currently works as Investment Director in the Impact Investment team dedicated to investing (both equity / Venture Capital and debt) an envelope of 200m€ (on BNPP’s own account) in start-ups and projects around 3 impact areas: Social Impact, Natural Capital, Local Development & Climate Change
